About me

Nicholas Spyrison is a Statistician at International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF). He earned his PhD from Monash University, Australia in 2022, where he studied linear projections and animating them over small changes to the basis loading. Nick is the author of two R packages and has 12 published papers in the Statistics, Medical sciences, and Physics fields. In his free time, Nick enjoys a good coffee, comedy, and greeting dogs.

Nicholas is the author two R packages, spinifex and cheem. Spinifex implements user-control of the basis in animated linear projections. Cheem uses this visualization method to explore the interpretability of machine learning models. My thesis is titled Interactive and dynamic visualization of high-dimensional data

Ph.D. research was conducted in collaboration with Professor Dianne Cook and Professor Kim Marriott.
